Now any inventory item can have an image or other external file associated with it. Just specify the file name in the Item Master:
| ||
| Although the prompt in the Item Master refers to a Picture Filename, you aren't limited to pictures. Any file can be associated with your item; a text file, a word processing document, a PDF, a spreadsheet, a CAD drawing, you name it. When you enter a valid filename, if it's a picture a thumbnail shows on the screen (the screen on the left). Double-click the image to see it at full size in an image viewer. If you specified a file that isn't an image, you'll see a multimedia icon (screen on the right). Same thing works here -- just double-click on the multimedia icon and the default application on your computer associated with this file type will automatically be launched with this file active.
Here's Inventory Expert, which has the same feature on its picture tab. Here you can also see the picture now displayed in the image viewer and the PDF document displayed with Adobe Acrobat. The functionality is the same anywhere the image option is active.
